What is a Destination Wedding?

Destination Weddings are a popular trend emerging in Australia. As the name suggests, a Destination Wedding is a wedding with the location a central theme to the day. Usually the bride and groom along with all of the guests travel to the "destination" and make a holiday of it.

Common Destination Wedding locations within Western Australia include Broome, Margaret River and Esperance.

Usage
The bride and groom just arrived home after their destination wedding in Broome.

Couples have two options when booking suppliers such as photographers. They can book a photographer local to them and pay for them to travel to the destination or they can book a photographer local to the destination. Both options have pros and cons. For example, the couple will have a better communication with their local photographer and will have a better chance at selecting the right photographer for them since they can meet in person. However the cost will be considerably higher if the photographer has to charge a travel fee.
