Brookland Valley Estate, Flutes Restaurant Margaret River
Information and images on Brookland Valley Estate by Rob Dose
It is not very often that I am overwhelmed at how visually stunning a venue is. However as I walked through the grounds of Brookland Valley Estate with my camera scouting locations I had to keep stopping to marvel at the complexity of the gardens and the beautiful simplicity of the landscape.
I believe that the entrance to a venue is just as important as the ceremony and reception areas A good part of the experience of going to a wedding is arriving and getting accustomed to your surroundings. Unfortunately this is a downfall for many venues but certainly is
not for Brookland Valley Estate.
As you pull into the driveway of the estate the large welcome sign and the view greet you over the vines to the majestic hillside and the distant rooftop of Flutes Restaurant. As you continue the drive you enter the main car park that is surrounded by gardenscapes and a flowing river (if your timing is right).
If you were on your way to a ceremony then you would have turned off the driveway to head down to the Margaret River Secret Garden which is an amazing formal garden surrounded by an enormous luxury house. This is the place of dreams and lucky are those who live there and attend to the preparation of your wedding ceremony to make sure everything runs smoothly.
As you can see from the wedding photographs below, the Margaret River Secret Gardens is a sight to behold. Renowned landscape architect Paul Bangay designed it and as a wedding photographer this is exactly the type of location I want to see as often as possible. This would easily rate as one of the top five wedding destinations in Western Australia.
If you really want to take advantage of the huge landscape that makes up the various parts of the Brookland Valley Vinyard Estate and Winery then you really need to set aside a lot of time between the ceremony and reception. Between the Secret Gardens and Flutes restaurant the photo opportunities are only limited by imagination Add to that the large open valley’s of grape vines and hilly forests and you have a diversity unmatched by other venues.
Flutes is an award winning restaurant who do not dampen down their efforts when preparing food for their wedding. At a recent wedding at flutes, Earl Cole and myself could not stop praising the incredible meal being served to us. Food at weddings usually cost a lot of money, more then what you would pay at a high profile restaurant. It is good to see venues such as Flutes restaurant giving wedding guests the same high standard that they do to regular patrons.
With Flutes set at the edge of a lake overlooking the vines across the water, it is hard not to fall in love with the scenery. A smoke free balcony gives guests a chance to relax and have a quiet conversation while still being in view of the entire reception. People who have travelled to
Margaret River from Perth will appreciate the chance to take some deep breaths of fresh air over the water.
I highly recommend Brookland Valley Estate to any couples planning a wedding in
Margaret River.
